A change is always implicit in a strategy

A change is always implicit in a strategy: you want to go from a current status to a new one.

It’s so obvious that it’s almost offensive. But, trust me, some people need a strategy for everything, even to keep their most valued relationships healthy. You don’t need a strategy for that; what you need in that case is love and respect. If you need a strategy to build your relationships, chances are that you are really close to crossing the line of manipulation. To build healthy relationships, yes, you need more than love and respect; you need other ingredients, but not a strategy. Think of it like this: if a person wants to build a healthy relationship, they will. Full stop.

Let’s focus on the cases that do need a strategy. If you want to improve at something, you will need to incorporate new activities and get rid of the activities that drain you. This sounds easy and commonsensical, but taking the right actions could become chaotic if you don’t have a plan. That’s the kind of strategy that I refer to here.

Let me point out this fact: sometimes we see the new status as the place that we want to be, and we cherish it because we think that, once we get there, we will grow and become who we want to be. Have you thought of it in that way? I have. And I learned with the years and through lots of experiences that this is a fatal mistake.

It’s okay to visualize the destiny with ourselves in it, like a picture of us having become a better person, an improved version of ourselves, or perhaps more impactful as a business, or a business that generates more employment, more revenue, and more opportunities. Yes, that’s wonderful – it’s all about growth – just, please consider making time to become aware of the growth that happens while you are moving forward toward your destiny. Every new step signifies a new status; that means change…make sure you grow along the way.
